All men and chimps do work and toil:
They climbed the trees and plucked the fruits
And sought the herbs with potent roots.
They chattered low and chattered strong,
For life was merry then and long.

But left the chimps in their trees’ mirth.
In village far in Afric’s time,
Fair chimps still swing in jolly clime.
